Production progress display in update 19

From a user stand point, there is way less information in the production general view, which creates a lack of visibility

  • The milestones are only greyed out or 'complete' when the tile is fully produced.
It was very useful to see which tile was being processed, the progress and processing time

  • At the same time, it is not possible anymore to see the tile being processed in the engine

  • When importing retouches, we don't see which tile 'requires update' in the production view, but only after submitting the update

    Hello,

Update 20 has been released a few month ago now, with the improvements mentionned in my previous comment. I am happy to hear any feedback and if it addresses the concern expressed in this IDEA.

    Thanks,

    Sylvain

The new job architecture that has been implemented has many benefits:

    • job submission and cancellation, job priority modification, are way faster, especially for larger projects with 1000s of tiles (we are talking a few seconds VS 10s of minutes).

    • Optimal LOD accross tiles can be generated directly at the production level, by the engines. It is properly integrated and parralelized. Update process is also better handled with limited re-computation needed.

    • Merging ortho parts, and point clouds parts are available by default and as a production setting.

    • Less duplicate work when working with multiple engines. (up to 20% of the reconstruction time).

This said, we know that this changes had big impacts on the user experience and we are taking all feedback into considerations. Therefore, In update 20, we are introducing additional information for the user to have more visibility on the job progress. in the production details, alongside the milestone list, we will display the list of the tasks that are currently being processed by the engine(s), with the following information: [Task name] [Name of Engine processing the task] [Task duration].

    Thanks,

    Sylvain

Seems to be rushed and unfinished just to implement merge tiles options.
