Optional Reset picture pose after an unsuccessful AT

The problem is the following :

when an AT isn't 100% successful, and some photos are not positionned properly, the user manual suggests to add user tie points to correct the problem.

However, this isn't always effective ; in many cases, the problem just gets worse and then one is tempted to add even more user tie points to solve the problem again. It seems that the software just uses the previous AT photo poses, and tries to fine tune from there. But in some (many?) cases, this doesn't help at all.

I've eventually noticed that once several user tie points have been entered to solve the initial mispositionning, then it's better to start again from scratch, and then the improvement in photo pose determination is visible.

The way I implement this is to create a new bloc, import the (same) photos once more, export the survey data from the previous bloc, import them into the new bloc and launch a new AT. Most often it solves the initial problem or at least improves it a lot. The software seems to be tricked into considering these are new photos and hence doesn't use the previously determined (wrong) poses.

It would be nice if his could be done more or less automatically. The settings for "estimation policies" in the AT definition are "compute" and cannot be changed. However, it seems that they're not "computed" but are rather "adjusted". If a "reset" or "compute from scratch" option was available, it might help.

    Hello,

From the photo tab, you should be able to right click on the photogroup and clicking on "set pose from metadata" will set the pose back to the original one.

Let me know if this works for you.

    Thanks,

    Sylvain
